SCHOLARSHIPS

for high school students

Seniors in high school have the opportunity to apply for National Army ROTC Scholarships. Through this process, prospective cadets can be awarded three or four year scholarships. These scholarships can either cover full tuition or full room and board.

The scholarship process begins with an application, found here. Eligible students will complete the applications, conduct an interview, and submit required documents to be considered before the National Board. There are three opportunities to submit requirements to the Board and if a student is not selected for the first board, they can continue to submit applications to following boards.

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be at least 17 and under 31 in year of commissioning

  • Have an unweighted high school GPA of at least 2.50

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (or be on track to graduate high school)

  • Have taken the SAT or ACT

  • Take the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT)

  • Meet the physical weight and height requirements

  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard 

requirements once in college

  • Maintain a GPA of 

  • Pass the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT)

  • Meet the physical weight and height requirements

  • Complete Cadet Summer Training (CST, Advanced Camp)

  • Attend Military Science classes, Physical Training Exercises, and Field Training Exercises (FTX)​

your obligation

  • Future service obligation of eight years in the Army

    • Four years active, then four years in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR)​

    • Eight years in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard

  • You may be eligible to service part time in Army Reserve of Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career immediately after graduation

  • Scholarship recipients who wish to exit the ROTC program can do so after freshman year without any obligation

Already enlisted? Interested in becoming an officer? The Army offers the Green to Gold program. This includes scholarship opportunities that can cover costs for tuition or room and board while earning an undergraduate or graduate degree. For more information, click here

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS 

Along with receiving full tuition or full room and board, scholarship cadets receive additional scholarship benefits. Including the following: 

Money

Monthly Stipend 

Contracted scholarship cadets receive a monthly stipend of $420 per month.

Books

Book Money

Contracted scholarship cadets receive a $600 payment each semester to be used for purchasing textbooks. Nursing cadets receive a one-time payment of $1,200 in the Fall Semester.
