We are the Dauntless Battalion. Based out of Widener University, formerly Pennsylvania Military College, the Dauntless Battalion has a rich history dating back to before the Civil War. It is the goal of the Dauntless Battalion to train and produce top level cadets to serve as Army officers. Composed of Alpha Company (Widener University, Bravo Company (Villanova University), and Charlie Company (West Chester University), the Dauntless Battalion develops outstanding Army leaders. The Dauntless Battalion, although primarily composed of Widener, Villanova, and West Chester University, brings together cadets from 8 colleges and universities in the greater Philadelphia area. Our cadets are active on their college campuses in intramural, club, and Varsity sports, Greek life, Orientation, Campus Ministry and so much more. Color Guard, Ranger Challenge, recruiting, and community service, are just a few of the opportunities that further involve our cadets not just in ROTC, but in the surrounding community as well.

 

The Army ROTC curriculum features Military Science classes, tactical training labs, and field training exercises. The Army offers merit-based national scholarships that can pay up to the full cost of tuition and provide additional educational opportunities. Whether you’re in high school, college, or already in the Army, you can become an Army Officer through joining ROTC.
